2 year electronic lock warranty terms

Our Sylvan electronic smart lock provides freedom, flexibility and security.

If an electronic or mechanical defect occurs on a Sylvan smart product which is still within the quoted warranty period, simply contact G D Rutter for further assistance ( 0800 279 582 ) which may then require returning the product together with proof of purchase to the point of purchase for either repair or replacement.

The warranty only applies to the original user of the product and is non-transferable. The warranty excludes the following:

  • Improper installation or failure to follow fitting instructions
  • Abuse or misuse of the product.
  • Excessive use of harsh or abrasive cleaning products
  • Use of a residential grade product within a commercial application
  • Indirect or consequential loss or damage
  • The cost of removal and or installation
  • Cost of freight and or travel time
  • Scratches from keys, rings, abrasions or deterioration due to the use of paint solvents or other cleaning products, chemicals.
  • Spare parts and accessories purchased separate to the product which the warranty applies
  • If the product has been subjected to excessive or direct exposure to the elements or other environmental conditions (including coastal or geothermal situations)

Sylvan electronic items:

  • 2 year warranty mechanical defects
  • 2 year warranty electronic defects
  • Suitable for residential use on wooden and aluminium doors with good weather protection.
  • Not suitable for commercial use, or for doors using hydraulic door closers
  • Not suitable for use on fire doors or smoke stop doors.
  • IP55 rated (not suitable for high pressure washing)
  • Not suitable for use in high sea salt and sulphur environments.
  • Not suitable for outward opening doors ,the inside of the lock is not waterproof only the outside of the lock is IP rated.
  • Must be installed on a flat door with no grooves that flow through the lock.
  • Due to New Zealand’s extreme sun exposure some fading may occur.

 

Batteries are not included - We recommend AA Energizer Max or AA Energizer Max Plus Alkaline batteries. 

DO NOT USE: Carbon Zinc batteries like the Super Heavy Duty Eveready batteries as they will slowly drain the lock.
