G D Rutter Limited (“G D Rutter”) operates the Sylvan Smart platform that manages all locks which integrate Sylvan Smart technology. This Privacy Policy sets out how G D Rutter collects, uses, or discloses personal data that you have provided to us through the Sylvan Smart App or Services (the "Platform").

1. DEFINITIONS

  • "Aggregated Information" means information about our users that we combine so that it can no longer identify an individual user.

  • Contact List: The App may access your Contacts to enable you to send SMS/email messages to a selected contact with passcode or eKey information. This data is only used to facilitate your request and is not stored for marketing.

  • Images: The App may collect an image if you choose to upload a photo for your user avatar.

II. Mobile Data

When you use our mobile applications, we may collect location data (e.g., GPS-based functionality) to enable features like Bluetooth Auto-Unlock. You can disable location-tracking via your device settings, though this may limit certain "Smart" features.

III. Log Data

Our servers automatically record information whenever you use the Platform, including your IP Address, the date and time of access, hardware/software details, and the specific actions taken within the App.

IV. Cookies and Tracking

Sylvan Smart uses cookies and mobile identifiers to improve your experience and assist with customer support and fraud prevention. While you may disable cookies, it may prevent you from accessing all features of the Platform.

  • Authorized Guests: When you explicitly approve a guest to access your lock, their contact details (provided by you) are used to send them access information.

  • Legal Requirements: We will release information if required by a lawful authority in accordance with New Zealand law.
